Graphic Design Summer Internship

Available: June 2 - August 29, 2008

Position Overview:

Tingalls Dzyn is seeking a talented, self-motivated Graphic Design Intern to add to our team this summer. Intern will have the opportunity to design logos, brochures, stationery, newsletters, advertising, direct mail, websites and more. Intern will also review proofs with clients, attend sales appointments, tour print houses, and help with office duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Candidate must be a Junion or Senior and have experience working in In Design, QuarkXPress, Photoshop & Illustrator and have a portfolio demonstrating design skills with logos, various print projects and websites. Dreamweaver or Flash experience a definite plus.

Candidate must be creative, highly organized and able to work with little design direction and supervision. Most design projects are turned around within 24 hours so candidate must be able to multi-task and work under extremely tight deadlines.

Schedule:

Very flexible. Part-time 8-10 hours per week, Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Preferred schedule would be two 4-hour blocks)

Compensation:

This internship is unpaid but you will gain valuable software experience and design at least 10 design projects to build your portfolio.

Professional Office Administrator (POA)

Position Overview:

Part time office position directly reporting to the owner and supporting the vision, mission and culture of Tingalls Dzyn, LLC. The POA will be responsible for the following listed areas of responsibility and be the lead office employee for communication, process flow and project management.

Areas of Responsibility – Primary:

  • Coordinate details for all new and existing projects
  • Oversee project flow and delegation within the design staff
  • Manage client hosting accounts and troubleshoot when needed
  • Answer and resolve clients complaints and concerns
  • Insure proper delivery of all outsourced work, including printing
  • Office tasks including answering phones and emails and sorting mail

Areas of Responsibility – Secondary:

  • Meet with clients regarding new and existing projects
  • Meet with clients to review and sign off on proofs
  • Follow up on client leads and set up meetings with these leads
  • Prepare estimates for projects
  • Attend networking events in support of management team

The following qualifications are required for this position:

  • At least 1 year of experience in marketing or graphic design industry
  • At least 2 years in customer service/customer relations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, Mac Mail, and iCal
  • Efficient using a Mac-based computer platform
  • Design experience with QuarkXPress, In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver a definite plus.

Compensation:

$12-16/hour depending on experience
